Pastor's Weekly Message

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This weekend, as we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Easter, we also observe the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Since the Gospel comes from the tenth chapter of St. John,it is also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. Our Lord tells us that his sheep hear his voice.
God is speaking to us, and in fact calling us to be his disciples. When we talk about a vocation, we must first understand that it is a “calling.” God has called each of us in a
particular way, but first and foremost, he has called us to a life of holiness. Each of us fulfills that in a unique way through our vocation. This weekend gives us several
opportunities. First, we can reflect on our own vocations, and ask for the grace to more faithfully live them. Second, we can pray for those who are struggling in their vocation, that the Lord will bestow the grace of healing and perseverance where necessary. And finally, we can pray for our young people who are discerning their vocation. May God grant them the grace and the courage to know how God is calling them to live as his disciples. And I would especially ask that we pray for the young men that God might be calling to the priesthood, that they would be open to serving him as his ministers in the church.
We are preparing to celebrate our First Holy Communion with the children of our parish. Please pray for them as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time!
God bless you!

PRAYER– FOR EVERYDAY AND EVERYBODY - Blessing for Spring
Dear Lord, As this new season begins, bring new life to our hearts as well. Prune what has grown despondent, brush back that
which darkens and clouds. As the flowers bud and bloom, bless us with new wonder, new hope, new promise, new joy.
Amen
